Teaching Creative Writing to Kids

Children are born creative. Anybody who’s watched a small child absorbed in a game of their own creation will have witnessed their utter absorption and their ability to let their imagination take flight. Once that child hits the exam years of secondary school, however, all too often that creative spark has to play second fiddle to discourse on word choice, metaphor, enjambment and the like. Young people at this stage struggle enormously to harness the creativity that once came so naturally to them. This two-day workshop looks at how to nurture imagination in them and keep that creative spark alight, and is aimed at teachers and parents keen to keep the art of creative writing alive in children and young people. Two-day residential: £270. Email us for details.

Easter Revision Week

As well as general examination preparation, practice with past papers and troubleshooting, we also work at developing and enhancing skills in understanding and employing critical terminology, word choice, sentence structure, understanding imagery and the skills needed for writing an attention-grabbing critical essay. Five-day non-residential: £130. Find out more or Email us for details.
